ठग्गू के लड्डू

Kanpur, infamous for dirty stinking Ganges, filthy tanneries,toxic chromium and mayhem everywhere is a historical town , which was a center of many political and vital events in the past.

Some eateries bear strange names and owe their immense popularity to it! Example: Badnaam Kulfi and "Thaggu ke Laddoo". It was so named because during freedom struggle of india , when Mahatma Gandhi shunned and despised every Mill-based foreign item, owner of this sweet shop did not pay heed and used factory based sugar-sugarcane to prepare sweets. Hence, named Thaggu for cheating people.
But audacity lies in the fact that it proudly boast these sentiments , which every second person follows these days , but no one admits:

ऐसा कोई सगा नहीं
जिसको हमने ठगा नहीं !
