-We had a tight submission - jury-presentation schedule since last month.
- Quite evident by the fact that our 6 out of 11 subjects now in 5th sem are theoretical, needing detailed research every week, documentation and jury presentation, all the papers are common board with equal weightage, what to leave, what to do, life is in complete chaos.
-craft cluster presentation went well, jury was happy seeing our products, and they appreciated our collection and design sense. Our group had a nice doc.also since all 5-1[mystery behind excluding the 5th one] ;) had same color preferences and way of working. We never faced such problems that other groups faced. Me and Raman were instrumental in making document and ppt , presentation and display were Swati Shweta's concerns. [oops .....Again excluded the 5th one] :D
-On the whole our's was one of the best in the class! our products were even sent for exhibition too.kudos to all team mates![excluding 5th ha ha]
-after this we had many more submissions meanwhile, days were hectic[they still are... and God alone knows when will we get over with all these hustle...],life was in a turbulent mess, we eight people attended for Tannery Jury on September 1st,08'
-Our sir had already made us super nervous ,saying that tannery juries every year as a matter of fact have been very tough, people even start crying there! and guess what! we never paid heed to his words, but unfortunately he was true!
-Our Kanpur group consisted of me, Raman, Sheeza, Ruchi, Ishani, Mona, Keshav and Priyanka[jury was apprehensive towards her from the very begining-an obvious fact!] As raman started presenting , they stopped her after 5 slides, saying we have less time let others also speak. then they cross questioned everyone seperately. Commented on Priyanka, saying she is reading each word with difficulty from board, must have not participated in any ppt or Doc making group discussions, although that was true , but save our modesty, we said ,"no! she did sir"! Its only she is getting nervous now"- jury smiled back. Well , who doesn't recognizes that sardonic smile!
- then Sheeza, Ishani took over, being a little more vocal, they began and the rest sufficed any gap in the speech if there occured any! A stage was reached when if a question was asked all 8 of us defended simultaneously, that made an impression that each one knows something or the other.
- Mona and Ruchi were a little less articulating, may be Mona is introvert at times and Ruchi because she doesn't likes to speak in front of everybody[ although both have a firm knowledge] Ruchi is a chemistry Graduate.
-Talking about me , as always I was once again miser in spending words, initially jury thought to interrogate the dumb looking fellow! but ah, sorry sir, wrong number! I knew all answers.:) once I started, no one could stop. Now that is a little exaggeration, but yes, it wasn't so bad for me.
- meanwhile jury ate snacks[God knows how!] confronting 8 hungry, thirsty people for nearly 2.5 hrs! longest interrogation was ours.they ate and ate, sucking our blood and draining our all energy and zeal out of us.
- When it ended, it was on a sad note with the external commenting, "you people will spread bad name of NIFT" wow! that was the end of it , we all got pitched off at once and moved out, we never managed to reach the end of the slides nor could we show them belts that we got as a gift from their belting unit. What to share with people who appeared to have been employed to point out only flaws, nothing else.
- whatever the case may be, it was my worst ever jury confrontation in NIFT! The only plus point was that we did'nt get a re-jury. O Gosh!
