He had discovered a great law of human action, without knowing it - namely, that in order to make a man or a boy covet a thing, it is only necessary to make the thing difficult to obtain. - Mark Twain

So true..it is the best form of discipline as well and a great tactic to use to encourage a child to strive for more..the fact remains though that parents these days give in too easily and make things very easy for their children so much so that the child has no urge to do anything on his own..

Hmmm... but for the simplest and basic things, it may not hold true. Love, for instance, is one of the most coveted things. Believe me, it is also the easiest to obtain.

@ Aniket
While writing this quote I shared the similar emotion.;)

@Sujata di
My mum also thinks so, She never restricted me from doing anything wrong, but her lack of interest, made me also lose interest in the thing.

@ Ankit
I choose to disagree. May be it would be true for you, but Love is the most difficult thing to obtain as well.

@Shivangi Love comes natural to life and every living being. If we filter the energies around us, believe me that is all you can see everywhere. We can at least try moving towards that.. It's worth pursuing. I read somewhere - A good diet may not keep you healthy. Love and happiness definitely will.
